The secluded large pool is away from the house found through the walnut orchard, it is large and deep with a semi shaded lounging area under a decking pagoda. It is not overlooked at all and is absolutely perfect on a hot day. The top two bedrooms have effective air conditioning units and the downstairs bedroom faces away from the sun in the afternoon and had a good quality electric shutter to keep the sun out. We had a superb family holiday here; a 5 minute drive to Daglan to the patisserie, and plenty of caves, chateaus, canoeing, villages, supermarkets within half an hour.

An amazing property in a great small town
This house exceeded expectations and we would without question come back and stay here again. The location is spectacular, in the cliffs just above La Roque-Gageac which itself was a great base for visiting the Dordogne region. The outdoor spaces of the property are especially stunning, with multiple patios and terraces and a great swimming pool. The house itself has plenty of space for larger groups (we were 6 and it could easily have handled more) and has a big and modern kitchen. There is parking in the driveway for at least two or three cars.

It is worth mentioning that, as advertised, this house was built a long time ago and there are a few quirks, like a narrow staircase to the third level and a number of unexpected single steps up and down as one moves through some parts of the house. The walk to and from town is short but with some steep parts, though it is all well paved and has steps on the steepest parts. The last few hundred meters of the drive to the house is along a narrow street, which was not a big deal for us after we’d driven it once or twice. But vehicles wider than 2 meters may not be able to make it all the way up.

That said, none of these were significant for us especially in light of all the positives. The house is spectacular, and we had a fantastic stay here.

Wow, what a view! The best in the valley by our reckoning. We spent most of our time sat on the terrace gazing out at the incredible view of the valley and 5 Château, canoes and hot air balloons. The location is perfect, such a beautiful part of the Dordogne, next door to a Château in one of the most beautiful medieval villages in France, walking distance to shops, bars, restaurants and the river. You do need to be prepared for an extremely steep hill though, so flat shoes only! Beynac is very close to other pretty towns and villages too. The property itself is lovely and well stocked with all the amenities to self cater. We had a bbq most evenings, as the outdoor kitchen is great. The set up would suit a family or group of friends with 3 bedrooms and a few separate living spaces so you needn’t be crowded. The pool was a decent size and well kept, and great to cool off in. We’d stay there again in a heartbeat though as it truly is a magical place.

Emplacement exceptionnel à 20 minutes à pied du vieux Sarlat; c'est la campagne à la ville. Idéal pour des journées piscine-barbecue. Super marché à 5 minutes à pied. Voisinage tranquille. Chambres climatisées. Cuisine et salles de bains fonctionnelles et bien équipées. Le wifi porte très bien jusqu'à l'espace piscine mais débit un peu juste. Check-in et check-out très efficaces. Il y a beaucoup de sites et d'attractions à moins d'une demi-heure de voiture et de très bons restaurants également! Nous avons passé une très bonne semaine de vacances à 4 en famille à Sarlat. Nous recommandons vivement cette destination et ce logement

Our family of four enjoyed our stay in Saint-Cyprien so much! This is a sweet, characterful home just steps away from all the amenities of a lively town in the midst of the beautiful Périgord Noir. The kitchen is well-stocked for cooking, allowing you to enjoy the wonderful produce of the twice-weekly market in town from the comfort of the pretty terrace. A good boulangerie/patisserie is only a block away, making for very easy breakfasts! Sabine is a lovely host and has compiled a very helpful binder of information about the area, which has a veritable wealth of things to do within a 20-minute drive or less. The town is truly a living one, as opposed to a tourist one, and we enjoyed meeting the locals (and their cats!) during our evening walks, as well as participating in this year’s World Cup excitement! It’s true that guests are expected to clean the home before departure or pay an additional fee for cleaning; that said, all is provided to make cleaning an easy experience. We would definitely stay here again!

Maison avec beaucoup de charme. Quartier très calme (attention, c'est tout de même près de l'église qui sonne toutes les heures, cela peut ne pas plaire à tout le monde). Saint Cyprien est idéalement placé entre la vallée de la Dordogne et la vallée de la Vézère, nous avons pu visiter de très beaux villages et des sites préhistoriques sans faire trop de trajet. La maison est fraîche, c'est très agréable quand il fait chaud. La terrasse ombragée est très agréable aussi, nous avons pu y manger matin, midi et soir.

My husband and I have just had the most wonderful week staying in La Maison des Tours. Everything about the property was superb - the view/location/proximity to the town of Domme/the welcoming and helpful support of the owners. All this - and the interior comfort of the property couldn't have been better - tastefully furnished throughout and the added bonus of the lovely swimming pool area made it a very memorable holiday. We would highly recommend the property and very much hope to return to do it all over again! Couldn't praise it highly enough.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Les Combes de Bougit and would have no hesitation in staying there again. It was extremely comfortable and well equipped and the pool was superb.

Our only criticism would be that the 2 bedrooms on the 2nd floor got extremely hot which made sleeping difficult. An air conditioning unit up there would have made a big difference.

Ein zauberhaftes Domizil für unvergessliche Erinnerungen
Anfang April verbrachten wir zwei wundervolle Wochen hier und hätten mit unserer Auswahl der Unterkunft nicht zufriedener sein können. Überaus freundlich empfing uns Véronique und führte uns durch das Haus und über das beeindruckende Anwesen. Die hier auf der Webseite aufgeführte Beschreibung und die Fotos können kaum die Realität wiedergeben.
Das Haus befindet sich unmittelbar an der mehrstufigen Stadtmauer woraus sich der in Terrassen angelegte Garten ergibt. Wunderbar wurde der Pool integriert. Wir fanden genügend Rasenfläche vor, um uns beim gemeinsamen Spiel zu betätigen.
Die Straßen im Ort sind schmal und aus diesem Grund jeweils nur in eine Richtung zu befahren. Durch einen separaten Zugang konnte unser Fahrzeug unmittelbar auf dem Grundstück geparkt werden. In dem kleinen Ort sind die wichtigsten Geschäfte vorhanden und zahlreiche Restaurants fußläufig erreichbar.
Wir fanden das Haus sehr sauber und komfortabel vor. Die Küche beinhaltet alle Utensilien, die für eine Selbstversorgung notwendig sind. Beide Schlafräume im Obergeschoß sind groß und liebevoll eingerichtet (wie im übrigen das gesamte Haus). Die Terrasse lädt bei Sonnenschein und der Wintergarten bei weniger schönem Wetter zum Genießen der herrlichen Aussicht ein.
Insgesamt sind wir von Anfang bis Ende der Meinung, dass dies ein toller Ort für einen erholsamen Urlaub ist. Wir können diese Unterkunft jedem sehr empfehlen.

Absolutely Stunning!
We have just had the most amazing week! From the point of booking until handing back the keys to Marion this morning, our experience has been second to none. The Quiet village of Bigaroque is quaint and very picturesque, the road in runs parallel with the River Dordogne which we chose to canoe down twice during our stay, and we highly recommend this as a very tranquil and beautiful way to see many sights and villages, we stopped off for food and drinks along the route. The warm welcome from owners Marion and Hans was lovely, they took care of our bags on arrival as the car is parked just down from the house in the shade (about 100m) from the house. Our luggage was driven up the stunning, winding path up to the house. It was at this point we both became super excited at the sight of our romantic hideaway and home for the week. The house is beautifully maintained and is built into the rock on three levels.... our favourite feature having the bedroom/ensuite door opening out onto the pool area which is so private and the views from there and the top terrace are stunning. There is the narrow road passing through the village which you will hear the very ocassional car passing through, however for the best part of our stay all that could be heard were the birds. We ate mainly in the house, which has a fully equipped kitchen. It even had stocks of salt n pepper and cooking oil etc. And there are plenty of supermarkets nearby to chose from. Maison De Bellevue is the perfect romantic hideaway for a honeymoon or even just a relaxing break, we couldn’t be more chilled. The owners are extremely welcoming, helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend and we will be returning next year.

Schönes Anwesen mit Blick auf das Tal der Dordogne mit seinen Schlössern
Die Anwesen ist sehr schön, aber unpraktisch für ältere Menschen oder Familien mit sehr kleinen Kindern. Die Schlafzimmer zwei und drei sind nur über eine sehr enge Wendeltreppe oder außen über eine Steintreppe erreichbar, die im Regen nicht besonders gut ist! Das Haus wurde wunderschön renoviert. Am Pool hat man eine sehr schöne Aussicht auf das Tal mit den Schlössern.

Superb location and well equipped house

This house’s location is its best feature, up above Sarlat with all its amenities but in a quiet wooded position. The views across the green, wooded valley are lovely with almost no building insight. There are however a few neighbours so it’s not islolated. Very peaceful in May. The pool area is excellent with plenty of new comfortable loungers and is no longer fenced. There’s a cover instead. Inside there’s plenty of room especially in the kitchen and sitting room. The dining/TV room is fine for eating but there are too few seats for more than 4 to watch TV. That’s dissatisfying for a house of this size. Beds were comfortable and the house was exceptionally clean. The kitchen is newly fitted with excellent SMEG appliances, a huge fridge freezer and range cooker. All worked well. Good eating area outside with plenty of chairs. There is a steep drop in the garden over a very low wall which would worry me for young children. Brilliant garden though for my group of adults. Good restaurants nearby and lovely walks along wooded lanes. We saw a fantastic range of flowers with many different orchids. Our 2 dogs enjoyed these daily outings. We canoed on the River Dordogne, visited 2 superb chateaux gardens and swam in the pool. It was very enjoyable and the local agency were helpful.

The one bathroom inside the house was spa worthy and had plenty of space. Can’t wait to visit Beynac again!

Lastly the property is in a great location for exploring all the region has to offer. Le Bugue is a busy little town with lots of shops restaurants etc. We would happily return.

This is an amazing property with the most beautiful views over the Dordogne River and surrounding chateaux. It has everything you need to entertain a large group. Whilst the house is a little ‘rustic’ in parts, it is a fantastic destination for families or groups of friends. We absolutely loved the stunning gardens, views and pool. It was almost magical sitting on the terraces in the evening watching the hot air balloons go past whilst sipping our aperitifs. For our group of well travelled friends - this was a favourite and we all highly recommend the manoir- it is a very special holiday destination.

Fantastic house
We loved it! The house is very nice, well equipped, and comfortable. The outside space - terrace, sunroom, and gardens - are especially nice. We ended almost every day with a glass or two of wine there. Inside was also nice with two nice-sized bedrooms, two baths (great shower in the upstairs bath), good living space downstairs, and a very well equipped kitchen. Domme was a great choice for us as well - it's a very cute village in a very central location for touring the region. The town is so small that I imagine it gets a little crowded in high season, but in May it was great. There isn't much shopping in Domme itself other than the Thursday market, but a nice supermarket, great boulangerie/patisserie , and a very nice shop with local food products are all within 5-10 minutes, and of course the fantastic market town of Sarlat is only 20 minutes away. Veronique was extremely helpful in showing us around the house, providing lots of information about the area, and helping with our questions. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone!

we stayed 2 weeks in this wonderful cottage in the picturesque town of Saint Chamassy in the south of France. What a great place and a real find for anyone wishing to experience the beauty and culture of the wine and food (and duck!!!) region. The cottage is well positioned with magnificent views over the countryside. You are just a short drive to many other wonderful towns like Sarlat where the market has to be seen to be believed. Le Tuquet was more than we wished for and if good fortune comes our way again we will be back!!!
